New public spaces

A key element of the masterplan is the creation of a new public space along the south bank of the River Medway tributary. This will provide a continuous, high-quality public space increasing connectivity to the town centre and offering new opportunities for walking, cycling, play and relaxation.

The riverside park will be complemented by smaller green spaces and community gardens within each development plot. These spaces will be designed to support biodiversity, improve climate resilience, and provide safe and attractive places for people to meet and spend time.

The public realm strategy also includes improvements to existing crossings to make it easier and safer to move around the town centre on foot or by bike.

Full details can be found in the masterplan document.
