Disabled access and facilities

  • a disabled toilet is located near the main car park, a RADAR key is required.
  • accessible walks - the best accessible paths are compacted surface paths around Barden Lake. A shorter walk is available from the car park past the Stone Lock.
  • seating is available around Barden Lake, most seats have backs and arms with the majority.
  • Barden Lake lakeside parking, viewpoint and an accessible fishing platform can accessed with a RADAR key by unlocking the barrier by the toilets.
  • oversized parking bays available outside the height barrier at the main entrance.

Play area

The play area is mainly surfaced with rubber surfacing which gives limited access for wheelchair users and the visually impaired.

It has a variety of play equipment for imaginative play including: sculptures, totem posts, percussion instruments, bank slide, tyre swing and a flat roundabout, the junior multi play unit also has accessible features.

Cafe

You will find the cafe in the park near the main car park and play area. Serving hot and cold food and drinks, all seating is outside. There are some wheelchair accessible picnic seats are on the hard surfaces.

Toilets

Toilets can be found near the main car park. This includes a disabled toilet is located near the main car park, a RADAR key is required.

Picnic areas

There are several areas with picnic tables. You can find them:

  • by the cafe
  • at Barden Lake
  • at the Shallows bridge
  • in the play area
