You must be on the electoral register to vote. The easiest way to register is online.
Registering takes five minutes. You'll need:
- your date of birth
- your National Insurance number (how to find your NI number)
- your passport details if you're a British citizen living abroad

What happens next?
When we get your application, we'll write to you to let you know. It takes up to six weeks to get added to the register. If you want to vote, you must register two weeks before election day.
