Current stage
In line with the Councillors’ decisions from the 16 June 2025 Joint Transportation Board, arrangements are being made for the legally required changes to the Traffic Regulation (TRO). This is necessary for the enforcement of any new restrictions. This will be advertised in the press, on this website and on site.
Following the changes to the TRO, other legally required works include lining and signing. Signs are not required for double yellow lines.
Once lining and signing has taken place, and the TRO has been signed and sealed, enforcement will take place.

Be abandoned. This arose as a request following the introduction of new double yellow lines to prevent obstructive parking in Fairfield Road, as a wish to retain parking facility. However, since the introduction of the restrictions in Phase 11 there have been no further reports of obstructive parking. This leads us to conclude that the changes have been effective. Accordingly, no further action is recommended on this request as it would reverse the changes recently introduced and may re-instate the problem. |
