Current stage
Informal consultation took place on 23 locations between 18 February 2025 until 17 March 2025.
Informal consultation documents
Responses to this informal consultation will be reported to borough councillors members of the Joint Transportation Board.
Previous stages
Of the original 31 requests the following locations/requests will not proceed to informal consultation or have been combined into one proposal for an area:
- Borough Green - Fairfield Road. Local resident request for double yellow lines to be removed. ‘This arose as a request following the introduction of new double yellow lines to prevent obstructive parking in Fairfield Road, as a wish to retain parking facility. However, since the introduction of the restrictions in Phase 11 there have been no further reports of obstructive parking. This leads us to conclude that the changes have been effective. Accordingly, no further action is recommended on this request as it would reverse the changes recently introduced and may re-instate the problem.’
- Borough Green – Wye Road. Councillor Taylor request for double yellow lines to be extended, has been combined into the proposal for permit parking for Wye Road, Annetts Hall, Tolsey Mead & Eaglestone Close.
- Snodland - Charles Close. The two requests have been included in one proposal drawing.
- Snodland – Holly Hill. Following an initial request for double yellow lines on Holly Hill, there has been no response to our requests for more specific information, and no reports of parking issues.
- Tonbridge - Cage Green Road will now be dealt with as a minor amendment using the Access Group minor amendments process.
- Tonbridge – Douglas Road. The two requests have been included in one proposal drawing.
- Tonbridge, Norfolk Road. Local resident request for permit scheme. ‘As there is already a permit parking scheme in place that covers the Norfolk Road area, no further action is needed.’
- Tonbridge, Shipbourne Road. Local resident request for double yellow lines across drive to prevent obstructive parking. ‘Already completed in Phase 14. No further action is needed.’.
December 2024
At the 02 December 2024 Joint Transportation Board (JTB) meeting 29 locations were reported, which were assessed and will progress to an initial design. Where a suitable design is thought to be achievable will move forward to consultation.
June 2023
A list of requests at 31 requests (the maximum number that can be addressed within available staff resources) was recommended for consideration in Phase 15 to borough councillors at the 05 June 2023 Joint Transportation Board (JTB) meeting. They decided that those locations be taken forward for investigation, and then informal consultation.
