New charges come into force at the Bailey Bridge car parks, Aylesford, from Monday 10 November 2025.
The charges are designed to ensure a turnover in spaces, making it easier for residents and visitors to park. We’ve also been making improvements to the car parks, including works to trees, better disabled parking facilities and installation of electric vehicle charging spaces.
Charges
There is no charge for the first hour of parking – a ticket showing time of entry must be displayed.
Charges apply every day 8am-8pm (free on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day)
- Free for first hour
- £2.00 for parking up to 2 hours
- £2.90 for parking up to 3 hours
- £3.80 for parking up to 4 hours
- £5.80 for parking up to 23 consecutive hours
There is no charge for drivers displaying a blue badge.
New signage about charges has been installed. We will, however, be operating flexibly for the first four weeks of operation to allow the new charging regime to bed in. Warnings rather than penalties will be issued during this period.
Season tickets
We are offering season tickets for £10 per month or £120 per year for the Bailey Bridge West car park. These will be available to residents and businesses in Aylesford village to the north of the railway line. There will be 27 dedicated spaces for use by season ticket holders only, located on the right hand side of the car park when entering.
Car park extension
We are planning to extend the Bailey Bridge East car park to provide approximately 25 extra spaces. These works are on hold pending the laying of a new sewage main by Southern Water and the granting of planning consent.
When we are in a position to go ahead with the extension, we will update this page with details.
