Mayor praises The Queen's 'immeasurable contribution to our great country'

Across the UK, people are being invited to observe a minute’s silence at 8pm on Sunday 18 September, the eve of the Queen’s funeral. It is designed to allow people to join together, whether as communities, families or individuals to reflect on the lifetime of service which Her late Majesty devoted to the United Kingdom, the Realms and Territories and to the Commonwealth.

The Mayor of Tonbridge and Malling, Cllr Sue Bell, said: ‘The outpouring of love and respect for The Queen both locally and nationally has been truly incredible. I urge everyone to observe the minute’s silence and pause to reflect on The Queen’s immeasurable contribution to our great country, her lifetime of service and the impact she had on people around the world.’

Details of local arrangements, including where you can sign books of condolence, are available from our Queen Elizabeth II web pages
