Community awards, group of people

A new initiative has been launched to shine a spotlight on the unsung heroes in the Tonbridge and Malling borough.

The Community Awards Scheme, from Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council, aims to recognise individuals, groups, and organisations who go above and beyond to make a positive impact in their local area.

From tireless volunteers to inspiring young leaders, the awards will celebrate outstanding contributions to community life, volunteering, and local service. Whether it’s a neighbour or young person who always lends a hand, or a group making a real impact. Residents are encouraged to nominate those who make a difference.

Award categories:

  • Individual volunteers of the year-
  • Young community champion (aged 17 and under)
  • Outstanding community group
  • Environmental contribution award
  • Community safety award

Cllr Des Keers, cabinet member for community services, said: “We are proud to launch the Community Awards Scheme, recognising the incredible efforts of those who help make our borough a better place to live. These awards are a chance to celebrate the people who give their time, energy, and passion to support others and strengthen Tonbridge and Malling.”

Nominations are open to all residents of the borough. To nominate someone, complete the online nomination form at - www.tmbc.gov.uk/communityawards
