Dog fouling
If you are in charge of a dog you have legal responsibility to immediately clear up after it. Not only is dog waste unpleasant and unsightly, it can also cause serious illness.
You can dispose of bagged dog waste in:
- a dog waste bin
- a litter bin
- your black wheeled bin
You can report owners who do not pick up after their dog.
We do not deal with other animal fouling such as from cats, foxes or horses, as there is no legislation available to take enforcement action in those cases.
Campaigns
We work with parish councils, the Police and Community Wardens to run responsible dog ownership campaigns in dog-fouling hotspots. Some targeted areas have seen more than an 80 per cent decrease.
