Why we collect and use this information
We use this information to:
- enable us to know the location and personal responsible for the camera while it is on loan
- find out how the scheme has supported energy efficiency home improvements, if indicated on the booking agreement.
The lawful basis on which we use this information
This information allows us to track the location and use of the thermal imaging camera, which is the property of the council, while it is on loan.
The booking agreement form allows you to indicate if you are willing for the council to contact you about the scheme. The council will only use this personal information to contact you if you have indicated your agreement to this on the booking agreement form. The council will only use this personal information to contact you in relation to:
- promoting the thermal imaging camera loan scheme
- energy efficiency improvements you have taken a result of borrowing the thermal imaging camera.
Collecting this information
The information we collect from you is necessary for the administration and monitoring of this scheme.
Storing your information
We hold your data for a period of 3 years from the date of the first booking agreement. This allows us to manage the scheme to ensure that the camera reaches as wide a pool of residents as possible, and is not repeatedly booked out by the same person or organisation within a 3-year period.
Who we share this information with
We do not share personal information provided as part of this scheme.
If you agree to be contacted by the council in relation to promotion or monitoring of the scheme, the use of any data and information for promotion or monitoring will not be shared without further permissions.
Requesting access to your personal data
Under data protection legislation, you have the right to request access to information about them that we hold. To make a request for your personal information please contact Adrian Stanfield, the Council’s Data Protection Officer at foi@tmbc.gov.uk.
You also have the right to:
- object to processing of personal data that is likely to cause, or is causing, damage or distress
- prevent processing for the purpose of direct marketing
- object to decisions being taken by automated means

- claim compensation for damages caused by a breach of the data protection regulations
