The current Mayor

The Mayor, Cllr Kim Taner

Cllr Kim Tanner became Mayor of Tonbridge and Malling on 12 May 2026.

Kim and her husband Jeff have lived in Kings Hill for 25 years, and she is proud to represent this great community having been elected to Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council in 2019 and again in 2023.

They have a daughter, son-in-law and grandson, Charlie, living very close by, and have enjoyed supporting the various sporting clubs that Charlie is and has been involved with, namely Aylesford Bulls RFC, KHFC, KH Golf Club and KHCC where Kim is now a Director. When time allows, she enjoys getting together with friends, and indulging her passion for clothes shopping.

Kim has also recently re-joined Kings Hill Town Council, having first become involved with local government at this level in 2009, after taking early retirement from her 37 years of working in the finance sector within the City.

Kim serves on various committees within TMBC, however she is most proud of her four years as a Cabinet Member holding portfolios for Housing and Finance. She stepped down from this role in 2025 to become Deputy Mayor.

Being Mayor is a privileged position that Kim is so grateful to hold, and she has chosen to support Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance along with Scotts Project Trust, a small charity in Tonbridge for adults with learning difficulties, as her chosen charities.
