A council’s completion notice tells you the date they think that any work on your property is finished or will be substantially finished.

The notice may be served up to three months in advance of the anticipated completion date.

From that date, your property will be liable for council tax.

If you disagree with the council's date, you must contact us in the first instance.

You can then appeal to the Valuation Tribunal. The Tribunal is independent of the council and will deal with your appeal at a hearing.
