Suspected fraud

Report suspected fraud to our parking team. In order to investigate they will need the vehicle registration number and any additional information that you may have such as the location and circumstances of the suspected fraud.

We take part in the National Fraud Initiative that matches electronic data within and between public and private sector bodies to prevent and detect suspected fraud.

Resident permit application confirmation documents

You must supply one of the following as proof of residency:

  • Council Tax letter for the current year
  • Utility bill within the last 3 months
  • Bank statement within the last 3 months
  • Tenancy agreement
  • Solicitors letter confirming purchase of property

You must also supply a valid vehicle insurance certificate or vehicle registration document, in your name, at the qualifying address.

Business permit application confirmation documents

  • A letter, on the qualifying business headed paper, confirming your employment at the business. This must have you name on it.
  • A valid vehicle insurance certificate in your name.
  • If the vehicle is a company car, a letter on headed paper from your employer confirming you are the driver.

Change of vehicle

  • Permit holders can now update their vehicle details themselves, using their account. You must supply proof of the vehicle in your name, at the qualifying address.
  • It is your legal responsibility to ensure that your vehicle details are up to date. Otherwise you may be liable for a Penalty Charge Notice.

Visitor permits

Visitor permits must be applied for by the qualifying resident. When applying in person at our offices, residents must supply one of the following:

  • Council Tax letter for the current year
  • Utility bill for the last 3 months
  • Bank statement within 3 months
  • Tenancy agreement
  • Solicitors letter confirming purchase of property

Terms and conditions

  • A parking space cannot be guaranteed.
  • Lack of space does not mean that the permit holder can park in contravention of restrictions or in a dangerous manner.
  • All drivers should comply with the local parking regulations and on site notices. If you are unsure, contact the parking office for help.
  • Any outstanding Penalty Charge Notices must be settled before a permit/dispensation can be issued, penalty charges currently being challenged are exempt from this condition.
  • Resident permits cannot be transferred between individuals.
  • Business permits cannot be transferred between individuals.
  • You must have a valid permit/dispensation for that area at all times when parked in a restricted area and within restricted time periods. If it is not then you may be liable for a Penalty Charge Notice.
  • Bays with no Area/Zone letter are limited waiting bays that apply to everyone, with no exemption for permit holders.
  • We may request documentation at any time.
  • All permit/dispensation vehicles must be covered by suitable vehicle insurance and where appropriate a current MOT Certificate and Road Fund License.
  • Permits are automatically cancelled if new residents apply for an address.
  • Refunds can be applied for, contact the parking office for help or to see if any refund is due.
  • Refunds are subject to a £10 administration fee and a minimum refund of £10.
  • Refunds are not issued during periods of absence.
  • We reserve the right to withdraw any permit or dispensation, or change the conditions applying to them. Should this be necessary you will be notified of the reasons in writing, prior to the effective date, offering you the opportunity to respond to the decision.
