Seat sponsorship

Last Updated:

Seats and picnic tables can be sponsored by the public in our country parks, sportsgrounds and areas of public open space around the borough.

We cannot install seats or tables on land owned by others. You would need to deal direct with the landowner, who may be a parish council, for their agreement.

Our leaflet How to sponsor a seat has all the details you need, and pictures of the seats.

Design and price

We limit the amount of designs and suppliers so that there is continuity and durability, and that repairs and spares are more available. There may be other designs in some locations but these are no longer available from suppliers.

Please note that prices are a guide only and may vary. Prices include seat purchase, installation costs, purchase of plaque and engraving on plaque. We do not currently add any costs for officer time or administration. Actual costs may vary depending on the manufacturer's quoted price at the time of delivery and style of seat.

We provide the plaque and arrange for it to be engraved and fitted. Due to the available space on the seat, the size of the plaque is limited which in turn limits the number of words that can be used. Confirmation of the words to be used must be sent to us either by letter or email.

How long until the seat is installed?

Unfortunately we cannot supply an exact timescale. This is dictated by the availability of external manufacturers, contractors and production times. These are not within our control.

We will be responsible for maintenance of the seat after it has been installed, and the seat will receive the same level of attention as other seats within the site.

Unfortunately , we cannot take responsibility for the plaque itself and of this were to be damaged we would not have the funds for a replacement.

Also, if the seat was seriously damaged or had deteriorated through age we cannot guarantee that the seat will be replaced. We would, however, endeavour to make suitable arrangements for relocation of the plaque in consultation with you.
