Wildlife Activity Day & Art Workshop

20 July
10am to 3pm
Leybourne Lakes Country Park

Join in the fun with rangers leading art workshops, bushcraft skills, pond dipping, orienteering, face painting, mini-beast hunting, flower pressing, and natural arts and crafts. A celebration of our ‘Past Plants Future Flora’ project with Medway Valley Countryside. Meet by the flag pole near the main car park. No booking required. This is a free event.

Join in the fun with the rangers and volunteers, free activities for the children: pond dipping; orienteering trail; face painting; flower pressing; bushcraft; arts and crafts; and led history walks. Some events will be run by the the Medway Valley Countryside Partnership on behalf of the COuncil. Meet by the flagpole near the main car park.No booking required. This is a free event.

Big Butterfly Count

19 July to 11 August
Haysden Country Park and Leybourne Lakes Country Park

Take part in Butterfly Conservation’s national Big Butterfly Count at the country parks. Collect a form from main notice boards near the flag poles, at both country parks, then walk round on your own ticking the butterflies you see. No booking required. This is a free event.

Mini Beast Safari

29 July
Haysden Country Park

Short introductory talk on minibeast, followed by a minibeast safari. Your findings will be looked at in closer detail using magnifying lenses. Booking essential with hte Medway Valley Countryside Partnership due to limited places . This event has been part funded by the Council. Charge £3 per person.

Bat Walk

31 July
9pm to 10.30pm
Leybourne Lakes Country Park

Join our expert to discover what lives in the country park at night, with the chance to see Noctual bats and pipistrelle bats. Bring a torch. Booking in eventbrite essential due to limited places.
