HR Adviser

Salary range from £34,005 - £38,109 pa (depending on experience)

We are recruiting to a new role of HR Adviser to join our small but busy team. Reporting to the job-sharing HR Managers (both of whom have flexibly retired), this is a varied generalist role that provides a fantastic opportunity to further develop your HR experience. You will be required to provide first point advice across a range of HR related activities; initially with emphasis on recruitment & selection and the practical implementation of HR policies and terms & conditions of employment. In addition you will take a proactive approach in developing and overseeing operational aspects of HR. Over time there will also be the opportunity for you to develop skills in managing employee relations cases.

This role will suit someone with previous experience of advising, coaching and informally mentoring managers regarding policies and procedures, who also enjoys the administration aspect of the role, ensuring that tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner. You will need to be at least CIPD Level 5 qualified, and, if not, already working towards or willing to work towards Level 7.

Civil Enforcement Officer

Salary: £18,156 - £19,491 (depending on experience) (pay award pending)

Are you fit, active, enjoy working in the open air and helping others? If so, the role of Civil Enforcement Officer could well suit you. Covering the whole Tonbridge and Malling Borough, you will have the role of enforcing Parking and Traffic Regulations and Orders. You will offer advice on parking and other Council matters, and will issue Penalty Charge Notices where necessary. Other duties will include positioning temporary signs and reporting defects in lines, signs and the fabric of the car parks.

You will carry out patrols on foot and in vehicles, use a hand held capture device, make concise notes and deal tactfully with members of the public. The job involves weekend and evening working on a shift basis.

You will be involved in the development and maintenance of systems, evaluation and implementation of software packages, business analysis and assisting the Development Manager in other areas of ICT.You will have had exposure to RDBMS e.g. Oracle, SQL server, MySQL, development experience using OO programming language e.g. C++, C#, Java as well as exposure to forms development utilizing HTML5/Javascript/CSS/JQuery and working in an Agile team. Exposure to .net technologies including but not limited to SSIS and SSRS an advantage.You will have a thorough understanding of Internet Technologies, and a desire to learn and adapt as those technologies change.

Senior Land Charges Officer

Salary from £19,875 to £25,053 pa (depending on experience)

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who would like to develop their existing land charges expertise or who would like to learn what is involved in delivering a land charges service to the public. You will assist in the efficient day to day running of the office, in time acting as deputy supervisor in the absence of the Land Charges Manager.

Your duties will involve recording and processing searches, maintaining the Land Charges Register and the Personal Search function, and ensuring that searches are completed accurately and within deadlines.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide leadership across a range of key functions within Housing, Environmental Health, Health Improvement and associated services to ensure the delivery of high quality, customer focused and integrated provision.
The successful candidate will also make a significant contribution to the strategic management of the Council. We are looking for an experienced housing professional who is accustomed to working with environmental health and health improvement specialists, who relishes the challenge of further integrating service delivery within these functions.
