Love Food Hate Waste Campaign
The Love Food Hate Waste campaign shows that around a third of all the food we buy in the UK ends up being thrown away. Half of this waste food could have been eaten - if only we had used it before it went off. The other half isn't edible e.g. meat bones and tea bags.
In Tonbridge and Malling, all cooked and raw waste food, including meat, fish and bones, can be composted via our separate weekly food waste collection, but clearly it would be better to reduce our waste food in the first place.
For practical information and advice that we can do at home to enjoy the food we buy whilst doing our bit to cut how much we waste, log on to www.lovefoodhatewaste.com.
