Tattoo Hygiene Rating Scheme

Last Updated:

Tattooists and semi-permanent practitioners in our district have the opportunity to sign up to a new scheme highlighting the hygiene and cleanliness of their business.

The Tattoo hygiene rating scheme is open to registered tattooists and semi-permanent make-up practitioners across Kent.

Participating premises will be able to demonstrate to their customers how clean and hygienic their operations are by displaying a certificate and window sticker with their hygiene rating clearly shown.

Premises will be annually rated by us in a similar way to the food hygiene rating scheme. The scoring system will be based on a rating between one and four; with one being rated the lowest, two being satisfactory (basic minimum standards) and scores three and four being rated 'Good' and 'Very good'.

For further information, please read the rules of the scheme and rating schedules.

In addition to the certificate and window sticker, ratings will also be promoted on websites and social media, providing businesses with good publicity and raising their profiles in a positive way.
