Tonbridge and Malling residents can now register for the latest round of Energy Deal to find out whether they can save money on their energy bills. Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council continues to support Energy Deal, a collective switching scheme which aims to help householders to access cheaper energy tariffs.
Residents have until Monday 10 February 2020 to register to take part in the latest round. Collective energy switching is when consumers group together to attract a better energy tariff from gas and electricity suppliers. Energy suppliers are invited to compete with their best offer at an energy auction. Residents registered with the scheme are sent a personalised offer showing how much they could save with the winning tariff, which they can decide whether they want to accept. It’s free to register and residents are not obliged to switch energy supplier.
Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council is working in partnership with iChoosr and four other Kent authorities to operate the scheme, which has been running for five years. The more households that register, the better the deal that suppliers are able to offer.
Eleanor Hoyle, Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council’s Director of Planning, Housing and Environmental Health, says: “We hope that residents in the borough will take the opportunity to register for the latest round of Energy Deal by 10 February 2020 in order to make the most of any savings that can be made on their energy costs. Since the Council first became involved with the Energy Deal many residents have saved on their energy bills, and we hope that many more will continue to do so.”
Register now. Residents without internet access can call Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council on 01732 876395 to register with the scheme.
