With the school summer holidays looming on the horizon, Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council has once again pulled together a great range of activities to keep children thoroughly entertained.
A range of fun activities for 4 to 16 year olds is available during the summer break including tennis, cookery, fishing, drama, abseiling and kayaking. There will also be the usual discounted prices for Leisure Pass holders. The cost of activities starts from just £10 (or £5 for Leisure Pass holders).
The Summer Playscheme, which is for children aged 4 to 12 years, will be delivered by Premier Education. The scheme runs weekdays from Monday 22 July to Friday 30 August and offers a wide range of activities including arts and crafts projects, competitions, games, and a variety of themed sporting activities.
The Playscheme will run at 14 venues across the borough with the option of a half day or full day from 9am - 4pm. A team of fully qualified instructors will manage each site. Each instructor has also been vetted by the Disclosure and Barring Service and trained in basic First Aid and Child Protection.
Cllr Mark Rhodes, Cabinet Member for Community Services, says: "The Holiday Activity Programme, which includes the Summer Playscheme, offers a wide range of options for young people to enjoy together throughout the summer holidays. With musical theatre camps, football camps, gymnastics and a whole range of interesting opportunities, all youngsters can enjoy an action-packed summer break with something on offer to suit all ages, tastes and abilities. Children can maintain their fitness levels whilst making new friends and trying a whole range of new activities."
