If you are self-isolating due to Covid-19 you may be eligible for a support payment of £500.
To qualify you must:
- have a Test and Trace reference
- normally work and be losing pay
- normally earn less than £290 a week or receive certain benefits such as Universal Credit
- provide a recent bank statement
Following changes to Covid restrictions on 16 August 2021, if you are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 or under 18 you no longer need to self-isolate if identified as a close contact of a positive case.
However, if contacted the government advises that you take a PCR test.
Looking after children
If you are looking after a child who has tested positive (under the age of 15, or under 25 with an Education and Health Care plan), you may still be eligible for a payment even if you are fully vaccinated so long as you also meet the criteria above.
