Anti Social Behaviour Officer

The Community Safety team at Tonbride and Malling Borough Council comprises a part time Safer and Stronger Communities Manager supported by a full time Anti-social Behaviour Officer. The role of the Anti-social Behaviour Officer is to co-ordinate the Community Safety Partnership's response to reports of Anti-social Behaviour.

This entails close liaison with the Police and other partner agencies to put in place appropriate interventions and pro-actively seek solutions to persistent problems of anti-social behaviour. The role also entails attending meetings with partners, visiting and issuing warnings to offenders and undertaking a range of administrative tasks; including the use of social media to promote the work of the Community Safety Partnership.

Housing Options and Support Officer

Salary range from £22,362 to £27,084 pa depending on experience
Permanent Full Time - 37 hours per week
Based at West Malling, ME19 4LZ

Your role will be to assess the circumstances of those in housing need in a holistic way providing a high quality, comprehensive personalised advice and advocacy service which address housing need and empowers people to maximise their income, employment and training opportunities and promotes financial inclusion.

Particular emphasis will be on the prevention, relief and resolution of housing need and homelessness to enable improved housing and wellbeing, ensuring that customers have access to appropriate support, guidance and advice on other areas of their lives that may be impacting on their housing situation.

You will have recent experience of working in a housing advice/options or homeless prevention role with a local authority, Registered Social Landlord, homeless charity or similar. Above all you will be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision, possess excellent communication skills and have the enthusiasm to help others overcome their problems.

Your role will be to work with colleagues to secure both temporary and permanent accommodation, ensuring a pipeline of different accommodation types to prevent and relieve homelessness.

You will work closely with the Housing Options and Well-being Team to ensure that our customers have access to support, guidance and advice on other areas of their lives that may be impacting on their housing situation.

You will have recent experience of working in a housing advice/options or homeless prevention role with a local authority, Registered Social Landlord, homeless charity or similar and knowledge of all aspects of homelessness, homelessness prevention and housing advice/options, including comprehensive knowledge and understanding of current housing issues, legislation, guidance and good practice.

Customer Services Advisor

Salary range from £16,650 to £19,110 pro rata
17.5 hours per week
Based at Tonbridge Castle, TN9 1BG
The Customer Service operation at Tonbridge Castle is a 7 day a week Customer Service operation, where residents and visitors attend to meet with Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council Customer Services; Gateway; Partner Organisations, Tourist Information Centre; Attraction and events.
The Gateway is a joint initiative with Kent County Council with the objective of developing a single destination through which communities have access to a wide range of central and local government services, voluntary sector and selected private providers who are best able to respond to local needs.
You will respond to enquiries received face-to-face, by telephone, or by electronic communication and ensure that relevant accurate information, advice and assistance is provided in a helpful, friendly, courteous and impartial manner.
You will need to have strong social media skills to maintain the Castle's web and Social Media accounts.
The core hours will be Friday 08:30 hours until 17:00 hours (8 Hours); Sunday 10:30 hours until 16:30 hours (5.5 hours) and 4 hours to be agreed.
