Civil Enforcement Officer

Salary up to £19,110 pa plus enhanced payments for unsocial hours worked
plus generous leave, career average pension scheme, and easy parking.
Based at Kings Hill, ME19 4LZ.
Hours are currently 37 hours per week over 5 days with shifts. These will involve some evenings, alternate Saturdays and occasional Sundays. The current earliest start will be 7:00 am and the latest finish will be 8.00 pm but these are regularly reviewed.

Keeping the streets clear of congestion and safe for other users is the aim of parking enforcement and patrolling, both on foot and by car, you will be enforcing parking restrictions, issuing penalty tickets, and offering advice to customers.

You will have the ability to: patrol on foot for periods of time in all weathers; operate a hand held computer; read notices and make notes; speak so as to be understood by others; and be able to undertake independent travel around the Borough.

Where necessary you will work as a pair. There is a 6 week rota to ensure that any unsocial hours, rest days and long weekends off, are evenly distributed. These rotas and patterns are regularly reviewed to ensure that the borough is appropriately covered at the relevant times and the above may be subject to change. Unsocial hours worked attract enhanced payments in addition to annual salary.

As part of a job share, you will provide administrative support to the Licensing Service and customers by ensuring that licences and permit applications are issued accurately and efficiently.

EHO Environmental Protection

Salary up to £37,362 pa.

37 hours per week
Based at Kings Hill, ME19 4LZ

Reporting to the EP Team Manager the post holder is responsible for the day to day running of their allocated geographic area, with regard to Environmental Protection functions, primarily the investigation of statutory nuisances and authorisation of the Environmental Permitting regime.You will be degree qualified in Environmental Health, EHORB registered (or working towards it), a current member of the CIEH, and have a range of experience within the EP field of practise. The post does require regular daily travel around the Borough.

Part Time Office Cleaner

Working as a member of a small but friendly team, you will be responsible for the cleanliness and hygiene of part of the Council's Kings Hill offices. The hours available are as follows:

Monday to Wednesday 5pm to 7.30pm, Thursday 5pm to 7pm, and Friday 4.30pm to 6.30pm.

Casual Customer Services Advisor

Based at Tonbridge Castle (Gateway), TN9 1BG
£8.09 per hour plus holiday

Tonbridge Gateway offers a multi-agency service to customers in the Tonbridge area, with borough and county council services and a range of partners from the public and voluntary sectors.

Reporting to the Gateway Supervisor, you will undertake a customer facing role for enquiries related to both Gateway and tourist information. Our offices are open seven days a week, so you may be required to work any day including weekends.

Educated to GCSE grade C standard or above in maths and English, or equivalent, you will have previous experience of providing a customer focussed, front-line, public enquiry service. You will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel, and demonstrate confident IT skills.

There is a lot to learn, so you must be prepared to assimilate and retain a large amount of information quickly and demonstrate a "can-do" approach to your work. In return we will give you ongoing training and support.
