People aged over 50 in the Tonbridge and Malling area are invited to a free Information and Advice Day in Tonbridge on Thursday 12 October to find out more about local services including health, benefits, housing, clubs, societies and activities.
The event has been organised by the Tonbridge & Malling Seniors Forum (TAMS) and will run from 10am to 1pm at the Angel Centre, Angel Lane, Tonbridge TN9 1SF.
There will be many stallholders from local groups, clubs and organisations who will be offering free information and advice as well as a chance to win a hamper of local food and lots of free giveaways.
Free refreshments will be available throughout the event.
David Cure, Chair of TAMS and Borough Councillor for Judd Ward, says: "This will be a great opportunity for older people to find out more about what's going on locally and to benefit from the enormous amount of help and advice on offer. I hope that people come along to find out more information that could help take some of the stress out of their lives as well as making the most of this opportunity to meet new people, develop new interests and pick up some useful health and safety tips at the same time."
TAMS is an independent and non party political group, which was set up to promote the needs of older residents. It is made up members of the public who have a wide variety of backgrounds and a broad range of skills, talents and experience. By working together they act as the voice of older people in Tonbridge and Malling – speaking out and advising on local issues and concerns.
TAMS is run by a small management committee made up of local volunteers. They welcome new members to join the Forum and help plan meetings and events. Find out more about TAMS and the free event, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
