Pest Control

The council has made arrangements with a private pest control contractor (Connaught) for the following pests to be treated in domestic premises only:


pdf logoThe Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) has produced an advisory guide on urban foxes. More information can be found on The Fox website or The Fox Project which offer a deterrence service. The Borough Council does not provide a service for managing urban foxes. (The Council is not responsible for the content of external Internet sites)

From 1 April 2008 a charge will be made for all of these treatments except for bedbugs and cockroaches.

The services will be free to residents recieving a number of means tested benefits.

Proof of entitlement will be required at the time the treatment is booked.

For all these services, we will provide you with:

  • An efficient and effective pest control service;
  • A visit within two working days or your choice of date;
  • Free advice on all aspects of pest control;
  • A pest identification service.
