Electoral Services

posting a ballot paper in a ballot box

In a democratic country decisions that affect all our lives are made every day by our local councillors and Members of Parliament, both in the United Kingdom and in Europe.

So that every eligible Tonbridge and Malling resident can, if they wish, exercise their right to vote, we compile and maintain the register of electors every year, and organise and manage elections and referenda in the borough.

Voter Registration Form 2012 - Deadline now passed

Each Autumn we send out Voter Registration Forms to every residential property in the borough.  The deadline has now passed for responding to the these forms.  We will be writing to any households that haven't responded shortly and these letters will give details of how to apply to go on the register at the next monthly update; alternatively you can read about applying to go on the register on this website.

Electoral review of Tonbridge and Malling

The Local Government Boundary Commission for England is currently undertaking a review of electoral arrangements in this borough.

Parliamentary boundary changes

The Boundary Commission is proposing changes to many parliamentary constituency boundaries;  you can find more details on our dedicated page.

Apply for a postal vote

If you know you won't be able to vote in person at your polling station you can apply to vote by post. You can also do this if you would prefer to not have to travel to your polling station.

Your Elected Representatives

There are several types of elected representatives that represent you in different levels of government. Click on one of the links here to find out more about how they are elected and contact details:
