Borough Council Election Results

At the Borough Council elections held on 3 May 2007, 53 candidates were successful in gaining seats on Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council. The Council now comprises 46 Conservatives and 7 Liberal Democrats who will represent local people in 26 wards for the next four years.

Elections were held for 48 Borough Council seats (the wards of Higham - 3 seats and cage Green - 2 seats were uncontested). 10 councillors stood down, 18 new councillors were elected and 35 councillors were re-elected.

The turnout was 38.33%.

The 53 councillors will serve until the next election in 2011.

Before the election the Council comprised 34 Conservatives, 12 Liberal Democrats and 7 Labour councillors.

Parish and Town Council Election Results

Elections were held for 68 seats in eight Parish and one Town Council areas. 194 seats in the remaining 27 Parish Council areas were uncontested.
